Big Bertha!
___________
Big Bertha is our most exciting slot machine. With five reels and
three paylines you can win $50,000 on three dollars! Bertha is
about 8 feet high and 10 feet wide. It is a replica of a slot
machine that formerly occupied the hallway of a major gambling hall
in Reno. It has an authentic payout schedule, stunning EGA graphics,
Sound Blaster support, lights, music, and a pretty girl to pull the
handle. Congratulations on obtaining your copy of Big Bertha and
we hope you spend many happy hours enjoying it.

_____________
This is another great game by Ted and Diana Gruber, the people who
brought you Scramble, Klondike, Keno, and the Las Vegas EGA Casino.
Big Bertha is not a shareware game! It is a registration incentive
for MicroBucks II and the Las Vegas EGA Casino. Please do not upload
Bertha to any bulletin boards. Shareware distributors, please do
not include Bertha in your library. I am trying to eke out a meager
living by selling shareware, and this program is designed to help
me with that goal. Your support is greatly appreciated, and you
will be kept on my mailing list and notified of future developments.
And to all my wonderful registered users... if you haven't heard me
say it many times already... Thank You!
System Requirements
___________________
Bertha requires a computer with the ability to display EGA or VGA
graphics. A Sound Blaster card is optional.

Installing and Starting the Game
________________________________
To install Big Bertha, just copy all the files into the directory
of your choice. If you don't have a Sound Blaster card, you can
delete all the files with the ".VOC" extension.
Type "Bertha" to start the game. A title screen will appear, and after
a brief pause you can press a key to continue. The reason for the
pause is it takes a few seconds to load the graphics into memory.
Playing Bertha
______________
Press the space bar to insert coins. You can insert from 1 to 3
coins. Each time you insert a coin, the corresponding pay bar at the
top of the screen will "light up". Press the <Enter> key to pull the
handle. If you insert 3 coins, the handle will pull automatically.
If you press the <Ins> key, you can insert 3 coins at one time.
Turn the Sound Off
__________________
The sound is one of the best things about this game. But if you
get tired of listening to the sound effects, press the <NumLock>
key to turn the sound off.
Exit the Program
________________
Press the <Esc> key to exit to DOS.

* The 77777 jackpot pays $10,000 on the first pay line, $25,000 on
the second pay line, and $50,000 on the third pay line. I calculated
the weighted average like this:
10,000/1 + 25,000/2 + 50,000/3 = 391,667
391,667/3 = 13,055

pretty; I used a fancy deck of playing cards from the Soviet Union.
